Davis grew up in southern California and was the oldest of seven children. He served a full-time mission to Argentina
from 1977 to 1979 and received a Bachelor’s degree in English in 1982. He earned a Master’s degree in Film Production
at the University of Southern California in 1988 at which time he was awarded
an internship at Walt Disney Studios. In
1989 Brother Davis was hired by Disney as an executive producer and worked on
such movies as “Rocketeer,” “Newsies,” “White Fang” and “Dead Poets
Society.” Davis later moved to a producer’s job at Columbia Studios
before leaving Hollywood altogether to pursue a career as an independent
filmmaker.He has since written,
directed, and produced six feature films, including “The Other Side of Heaven”
starring Academy Award winner, Anne Hathaway, “Christmas Eve” starring Patrick
Stewart, “The Stray,” and, most recently, “The Other Side of Heaven 2,” which
tells the true story of Elder Groberg’s return to Tonga as a young mission president
with his wife and five daughters. Brother Davis has served in a number of capacities in the
Church including Young Men’s President, Bishop, and Primary Teacher.He is married to the former Michelle
Haynie.They have five children, all
married, and twelve and a half grandchildren.
